The Department of Biochemistry (DB) is one of four applied science Departments within the School of Biological Sciences of Primeasia University. DB offers 4 years B. Sc. (Honors) program in Biochemistry. This is a world-class program consisting of 148 credits in 12 semesters. The program is aimed at providing the students a solid background for their future careers related to teaching , researches and jobs in biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, genetic engineering, public health, pathology, environment and pollution control, immunology, quality assessment of pharmaceuticals and food products, bioinformatics and biomedical -related disciplines.
To achieve such goal, the Biochemistry Department has recruited highly qualified professors and lecturers who are committed to producing quality teaching, research and consultancy services in the areas of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Biotechnology and related disciplines.
Students are also required to take general courses including English, statistics and Fundamentals of Computer so as to develop outstanding human resources to the world; individuals that will be able to meet the needs of the constantly changing social demands.
Laboratory experimentations are routine throughout academic year to reinforce learning in the classroom and fully-equipped laboratories are available in the department for regular laboratory courses as well as the project works at the end of B.Sc. (Hons). A viva voce is also taken at the end of every year in B.Sc. (Hons). The major objective of Biochemistry Program is to provide sufficiently broad educational opportunities in the biochemistry and biotechnology related fields so that each student encounters and utilizes interdisciplinary and state-of-the-art approaches to excel in their educational and career endeavor.
